Resumen
La obra plástica de Christo and Jeanne-Claude es un trabajo de experimentación sobre la envolvente, el espacio y el volumen de un objeto, que inician a mediados del siglo XX hasta la actualidad. Transforman temporalmente ese objeto, de varias escalas y en contextos diversos. Primero vamos a identificar las distintas etapas de su vida artística a través de la idea de escala. Entendiendo la relación entre este concepto y su planteamiento artístico, deteniéndonos en el diálogo entre el objeto autónomo, la persona y el lugar como escala ambiental. Por último, identificaremos los cuatro principios transformadores que dan origen a la totalidad de sus obras: Acumular, Envolver, Extender y Ocultar, viendo como, por sí solos, tienen valor artístico. Aun siendo utilizados como un recurso creativo, en última instancia estos principios, son los que producen el resultado, tanto estético como conceptual.

Abstract
Christo and Jeanne-Claude's plastic work is an experimentation about the wrapping, the space and the volume of an object, a work which began in the mid-20th century until today. They temporarily transform that object, of different scale and very diverse contexts. First, we will identify the different stages of his artistic life through the idea of scale. We will understand the relationship between this concept and his artistic philosophy, we’ll focus at the dialogue between the autonomous object, the person and the place as environmental scale. Finally, we will identify the four transforming principles that produce all their works: Accumulate, Wrap, Extend and Conceal. This four, by themselves, have artistic value. They are being used as a creative resource, and still they are the ones that produce the work of art, both, the aesthetic and conceptual meaning.
